We are seeking a Facility Security Officer (FSO) to manage and administer the organization’s industrial security program in support of classified government contracts and secure operations. The FSO will serve as the primary point of contact for all facility security matters and ensure compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD regulations, and customer-specific security requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience managing classified programs, administering personnel security processes, maintaining compliance with DCSA requirements, and supporting secure facilities operating at the Secret and Top Secret levels.
What you'll do:
- Administer and oversee the company’s industrial security program in accordance with NISPOM, DCSA guidance, and government customer requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with DCSA, government security representatives, and internal leadership regarding security matters.
- Manage personnel security actions, including clearance processing, visit requests, indoctrinations, debriefings, and access determinations.
- Maintain accurate security records in DISS, NBIS, and other government security systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain facility security policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct security education, annual refresher training, and insider threat awareness training for cleared personnel.
- Oversee classified document control, storage, transmission, destruction, and accountability processes.
- Ensure compliance with physical security requirements for closed areas, secure rooms, alarms, and classified storage containers.
- Support government inspections, self-inspections, audits, and corrective action plans.
- Coordinate and process classified visit certifications and foreign travel/security reporting requirements.
- Assist program teams with contract security classification specifications (DD254s) and security requirements implementation.
- Support insider threat program activities and coordinate with company leadership and cybersecurity personnel as required.
- Maintain readiness for DCSA assessments and ensure timely resolution of security findings.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
- 4–8 years of industrial security or related security management experience.
- Experience serving in an FSO or Assistant FSO role supporting cleared defense contractor environments.
- Strong working knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA processes, and classified information handling procedures.
- Experience using DISS, NBIS, NISS, and related government security systems.
- Ability to interpret DD254s and implement contract-specific security requirements.
- Experience conducting security training, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strict attention to detail.
- Active Top Secret security clearance required.
