Job Details:
The SAP ABAP Solution Architect serves as a functional manager with enterprise‑level responsibility for the SAP HR solution architecture function across assigned business domains. The role has authority to establish solution architectural strategy and standards, direct the work of technical leads and scrum teams, and approve or reject SAP HR solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, risk posture, and business objectives.
Functional Ownership of SAP Architecture- Manage the SAP HR solution architecture function for assigned business domains with accountability for architectural outcomes, system uptime and compliance.
- Work with the product owners, business teams, and leadership to outline and govern the 5-year system architecture landscape and all associated documentation required for controls, audits, compliance and records retention.
- Responsible for system health and uptime functions – manages work of others to maintain delivery expectations with accordance with our metrics and SLAs.
- Set architectural direction and priorities for SAP initiatives across multiple projects.
- Exercise discretionary authority to approve, modify, or reject architectural approaches proposed by delivery teams – works with team to drive collaboration and alignment
- Translate business requirements into solution designs and architecture diagrams.
- Establish, maintain, and enforce SAP HR architectural standards, patterns, and controls.
- Lead architecture review forums with authority to make binding architectural decisions and audit delivery of the solutions.
- Resolve escalations involving architectural risk, compliance, scalability, and interoperability.
- Document architecture decisions, patterns, and tradeoffs.
- Direct the work and priority for the technical leads, junior developers, and data teams
- Set expectations, priorities, and system guardrails under which technical teams and the enterprise operate. Make recommendations on security and infrastructure improvements.
- Serve as the final architectural authority for SAP HR‑related initiatives within scope.
- Define and maintain the SAP HR architecture, consistent with business strategy.
- Evaluate and have stakeholder input in the selection of future payroll technologies, extensions, and third‑party platforms based on niche knowledge and expertise with the landscape.
- Enforce and oversee major technology decisions with architectural standards.
- Confirm all vendor solutions align with security and governance standards.
- Maintain accountability for architectural integrity, scalability, security, and technical debt across global payroll platforms.
- Ensure system downtime is mitigated, and all disruptions are resolved within SLA.
- Assess enterprise‑level architectural risk and drive mitigation strategies.
- Influence long‑term business capability through architectural planning and governance.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in SAP HR architecture, including responsibility for architectural governance or functional leadership.
- Demonstrated experience exercising independent judgment over enterprise‑level technical decisions impacting multiple projects or business units.
