Job Description:

We’re seeking a Technical Lead (known internally as a Staff Engineer) to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering modern retail technology solutions. This is a senior individual contributor role with high autonomy, ownership of technical strategy, and influence across multiple portfolios.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead design and delivery of end‑to‑end applications (UI, APIs, services, data)

  • Own epics and act as Lead Engineer on medium–large initiatives

  • Define technical strategy and architecture across multiple domains

  • Drive DevSecOps, non‑functional requirements, and operability (performance, security, resilience)

  • Take hands‑on ownership of complex features and services

  • Partner closely with Product, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and global vendors

  • Manage COTS applications across their full lifecycle

  • Uplift engineering standards, processes, and best practices

What you bring:

  • Senior/lead‑level application development experience

  • Proven ability to influence architecture and lead complex initiatives

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in global teams

  • Retail, e‑commerce, or FMCG experience (preferred)

  • Azure certifications and cloud cost optimisation experience (preferred)

Technical skills:

  • Azure: App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Storage

  • Backend/API: .NET Core, C#, REST, event‑driven, Apigee

  • Frontend: Blazor, Razor, Telerik

  • Data: ADF, SQL (ETL/ELT)

  • DevOps: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions

  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes

  • Security: OWASP, ISO27001, IAM, encryption

  • Reporting Tools: JIRA, Confluence
