How you will make an impact:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a motivated individual to fill a role as a Staff Engineer, Electrical Systems. Being a part of the Single-use division, R&D team, you will have the opportunity to engage in the development of equipment and systems used by the manufacturers of biological-based therapeutics and vaccines in the industry.
What you will do:
- Design, development, testing, and implementation of systems and solutions based on requirements and objectives.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers, to define system requirements and specifications.
- Conduct system analysis, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for successful integration and operation.
- Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain system architectures, models, and documentation.
- Lead all aspects of system testing, verification, and validation to ensure quality and performance standards.
How you will get here:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering or related field with 8+ years’ experience, or a master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; of hands-on electrical system design, product design, product development, and manufacturing experience.
Experience
- Strong experience in electrical system/hardware design
- Proven record handling vendors, contract manufacturers, and design firms.
- Value engineering, process development, should-cost modeling experience, DFA/DFM/DFx experience, and PI&D drawing creation.
- Experience dealing with regulatory compliance of electromechanical devices by third party agencies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Proficiency in PCBA and CAD Design software; Altium, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal skills, customer relations, and technical writing.
- Self-motivated and can work within a global organization.
