JR64215 Staff Engineer - SSD Software
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test firmware for embedded systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements and specifications.
- Implement and optimize firmware algorithms to meet performance and power consumption goals.
- Debug and troubleshoot firmware issues, ensuring robust and reliable operation.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Maintain and update firmware documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in firmware development for embedded systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Embedded C and assembly.
- Knowledge of various processor architectures (e.g., ARM, Tensilica, NXP)
- Familiarity with storage protocols (e.g., PCIe/NVMe, SCSI).
- Familiarity with hardware interfaces and protocols (e.g., I3C/I2C, SPI, UART, USB, SMBus).
- Experience with debugging tools and techniques (e.g., JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS) and embedded Linux.
- Knowledge of hardware-software integration.
- Experience with low level software and real-time firmware development.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with code review and bug management systems (e.g., Bitbucket, JIRA).
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
