As a Scribe Design Engineer, you will work in the Research and Development (R&D) Scribe Design group where you will support advanced technology development through scribe test structure design and layout, scribe database management, and design validation. Your job functions include test structure design and layout, collaboration with various teams (Process Integration, Electrical Characterization, Device, Reliability, Design Rule, CAD), and assisting with parametric correlation and debug.
Job Description *
You will support process development activities through close interaction with Process Integration, Advanced Mask Development/OPC, Product and Design, Mask Shop, and Electrical Characterization to create standardized and novel memory cell/pitch test structures. This includes feedback between these groups during the initial development of an R&D project and beyond through manufacturing integration. You will also be expected to verify and validate test structure documentation and related parametric information.
Your essential duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Hands-on experience and proficiency in EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso Layout and Schematic Editor, Calibre, etc.)
- Lead end-to-end design automation flow development, deploying innovative, scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain EDA automation flows covering DUT generation, layout creation, verification, and documentation.
- Design, implement, and enable PCELL-based device layouts for CMOS modules to support rapid, parameter-driven design.
- Automation on DUT layout generation, placement, and electrical constraint-driven routing.
- Expertise in scripting languages (SKILL, Python, Perl, Tcl) for design automation data processing, flow orchestration, and EDA tool enhancement in Linux environments.
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven optimization, metrics analysis, and automation feedback, contributing to patents and technical publications.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with global design, process, and automation teams in a fast-paced R&D and manufacturing setting.
Education & Experience requirements:
- BS degree in science or engineering or equivalent experience is required.
- 6+ years in an engineering position.
Experience with layout, design automation, CAD, EDA tools (Virtuoso EXL, GXL, Innovus)

Skills Required
- 7-10 Years with B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or other similar field
- Hands on experience and proficiency in EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso, Calibre, Hspice)
- Layout and Verification skills in Cadence and Calibre (DRC, LVS)
- Good knowledge of semiconductor device physics and operation
- Strong understanding of Micron memory process
- Good project management skills
- Familiarity with device characterization
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and scripting languages (Python/Skill)
