Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and contribute to the development and optimization of head over coating processes for magnetic recording heads.
• Perform in-depth characterization of thin films using advanced techniques, with a particular emphasis on Raman spectroscopy, Ellipsometry or any film characterization technique to assess the properties of HOC films.
• Apply statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize processes, analyze data, and drive decision-making for process improvements.
• Ensure that all processes meet stringent quality and performance standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including materials science, process engineering, and equipment engineering team, to achieve project goals.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in coating technologies, statistical methods, and data-driven method, and apply this knowledge to improve our processes.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments, processes, and analyses, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical, Electronics, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Materials Science, or a related field..
• At least 5 years in related position or research related.
• Strong knowledge of diamond-like carbon coatings, thin film characterization, Raman spectroscopy, and statistical analysis
• Proficient in interpreting spectroscopic data, conducting DOE, and analyzing results using statistical methods.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize processes based on experimental data and industry best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.

PREFERRED:

• Experience in the electronics or hard disk drive industry.
• Familiarity with other film characterization techniques such as Ellipsometry, AFM, SEM, or TEM.
• Strong project management skills.
