GEICO is seeking Finance Data specialists to support the build out of a Finance Data Mart/Lake by partnering with both Finance and Technology teams to redesign the way they use their technologies in managing GEICO's business. This individual must have strong functional and technical Finance Systems background to partner with the Business ensuring effective discussions to drive the capture, transformation, and utilization of Finance data to meet Business goals.
The Staff Solutions Architect for Finance Data Systems will report to the Senior Director of Finance Technologies will provide solutions on how to build out, maintain, and support a Finance Data repository to support FP&A processing and analytics while also supporting the larger Finance organization’s need for Finance data. The Finance Data Systems Solutions Architect will work with multiple Finance and Technology leaders to support the build out the company’s Finance Data Mart/Lake to provide a central repository for all Financial related transactions so it can be a reconciled source of truth for processing and the source for Revenue and Expense analytics. This role is also accountable to support the delivery of technology solutions that will support FP&A Planning/Budgeting, financial reporting, Revenue/Expense Analytics, and the build out of the Finance Data Mart to become a reconciled source to allow the GL to become a “thin” ledger.
The ideal candidate has deep Finance Systems experience across multiple companies, a background in ERP and Finance/Data Warehouse from both technical and functional aspects, and has supported the deployment of best practices leveraging their broad knowledge of various ERPs (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Workday; or SAP). Prior Financial Services Industry experience is needed to be considered.
Position Responsibilities
As a Staff Solutions Architect supporting Finance Data Systems functions you will:

Leverage your strong Functional and Technical systems expertise to drive towards the right solution to support the department and GEICO’s current and future needs

Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle

Support design sessions with peers to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet Business expectations

Collaborate with Finance Leaders within the FP&A, Controllers, Financial Reporting, and Finance QA & Systems team along with the Data Engineering and Finance Technology leaders to ensure organizational goals are met

Have a deep understanding of a few Finance functions to support the establishment of a vision and technology roadmap to build out a Finance Data Lake

Support the development of a roadmap and then work towards implementing Revenue and Expense Analytical solutions

Work with Business leaders to develop project roadmaps which align to business objectives and sequenced by priority and resource availability

Support and try to influence customers and stakeholders, and work through divergent expectations

Support the implementation of a strong control and governance framework and maintain it for SOX and Audit reviews

Support Business and Technology discussions at various levels to ensure alignment towards long term goals of Finance and Technology

Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications

Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
Qualifications
-
15+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry leading ERP solutions (e.g. implementing and supporting PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Workday; or SAP)

3+ years of experience in implementing and supporting FP&A applications

3+ years working with or supporting a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart along with various Financial Reporting tools

5+ years as a lead supporting Financials via the major vendors (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Workday; or SAP)

Deep Finance domain expertise to be able to work with senior Finance leaders to interpret their process and functional needs into system solutions

Strong understanding of FP&A Budgeting, Planning, and Reforecasting processes

Experience in implementing or supporting Revenue or Expense analytical solutions

Good understanding of Accounting process and reporting expectations to partner with Finance teams

Ability to communicate and work directly with users across Technology and Finance

Sound understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$115,000.00 - $230,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
