Staff Engineer Electrical Engineer Equipment
Role and Responsibilities.
- To Lead end-to-end electrical project execution including scope definition, technical specifications, BOQ preparation, PR creation, and vendor selection.
- Evaluate vendor offers through technical comparison, compliance assessment, and commercial coordination.
- Review and approve electrical drawings, layouts, SLDs, protection schemes, and vendor submissions in line with IEC/IEEE/IS standards.
- Manage erection, testing, commissioning, and energization activities for HT/LT systems, substations, switchyards, transformers, Power banks, Rectifiers, Transformers, DC/DC and auxiliaries.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules, budgets, and contractual obligations.
- Preventive, breakdown, and condition-based maintenance of electrical systems for lab (Plant 19A & Juinagar)
- Maintain critical assets including switchgear, motors, transformers, generators, and switchyard equipment.
- Plan and execute annual plant shutdowns, maintenance strategies, and spare part management to minimize downtime.
- Analyze equipment failures and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence and improve reliability.
- Review and validate reports for harmonic analysis, relay coordination, short circuit studies, and system health assessments.
PCS (Power Conversion System) Basics.
- understanding and application of PCS (Power Conversion System) Basics - Diodes, MOSFETs, IGBTs, Diodes, MOSFETs, IGBTs
- Knowledge of AC–DC, DC–DC, DC–AC, and AC–AC converters.
- understanding of PCS usage in solar, battery storage, UPS etc.
- Basic understanding of rectifiers, inverters, choppers
- support functional, load, and thermal testing
High Voltage Substations & Switchyards
- Troubleshoot relay faults, control circuits, and transformer protection schemes.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Enforce HSE compliance, including PTW, LOTO, PSSR, toolbox talks, and safe work practices.
- Close safety observations, safety points and audit points in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, statutory regulations, and internal quality systems.
Documentation & Controls
- Expert user of PM, MM, and Project modules for maintenance planning, notifications, work orders, equipment history, and inventory control.
- Maintain technical documentation, maintenance logs, statutory records, and ISO documentation.
- Monitor budgets, maintenance costs, and vendor billing approvals ensuring financial discipline.
- Lead, mentor, and train engineers, technicians, and vendor teams to enhance productivity and technical competence.
- Coordinate annual AMCs and evaluate vendor performance.
