Join a diverse team in Advanced Packaging Technology Development as a Metrology RDA Engineer specializing in critical dimension metrology and defect analysis. Contribute to innovative solutions for sophisticated IC packaging and 3DI projects.
Job Responsibilities
  • Investigate root causes and defects through the application of AOI, SEM, OM, and EdX for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Develop scanning acoustic microscopy recipes for engineering samples and inline BKM set.
  • Support metrology recipe development for engineering purposes and establish critical dimension, thickness, and warpage BKM set.
  • Monitor defect maps and trends, addressing Lot Holds at MRDA steps, and manage OOC events and other tactical issues.
  • Own and develop inspection processes to align with technology roadmaps.
  • Qualify new methods, such as Automated Defect Classification, in collaboration with tool and software suppliers.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and propose novel solutions to address roadmap gaps.
  • Build and complete experiments, gather data, and propose improvements for inspections.
  • Use a range of manufacturing and data analysis software like GeRM, MES, MAM, SPC, CQ, JMP, Yield3, Klarity/Discover, and MS Office to aid in SWR execution and assess experimental findings.
  • Evaluate process flow to identify potential interdependencies and gaps in data collection.
  • Characterize process and equipment capabilities to implement process control limits ensuring process health.
  • Develop quality assurance and control schemes for new equipment and processes.
  • Document processes for transitioning to different R&D teams.
  • Drive tool procurement, including tool identification, installation, and qualification, ensuring familiarity with DOC-2, SAC, FAC business processes.
  • Understand upstream and downstream process interactions, ensuring process requirements are met.
  • Train and apply KT or other problem-solving and decision analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate with tool vendors to establish new technology requirements and CIP for existing tooling.

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and device process flows.
  • Experience in applied statistics and strong data analysis skills.
  • High attention to detail.

Education
  • The ideal candidate will hold a Masters or Doctorate degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field. Alternatively, applicants with a B.S. degree or relevant experience of 5+ years in the industry will be duly considered.
