Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. This position is located: Roy, UT.

What You’ll Get To Do

The Command System team oversees the ground design of multiple electrical components required at different Sentinel weapon system facilities located across the nation.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating electrical design/analysis, such as cable/harness and/or distribution boxes, in accordance with scope of work

  • Responsible for managing/working with vendors/suppliers

  • Reviews engineering deliverables such as one-line, schematics, wiring diagrams, part data sheets research, interconnect connect diagrams, specifications, electrical analysis and trade studies

  • Supports the development, review and/or delivery of the following: Product Definition Packages (PDP), Analysis Data Packages (ADP), Interface Models, CDRLs, SDRLs and additional design artifacts

  • Ensures design/analysis quality by validating that processes and procedures are applied

  • Responsible for briefing design and/or analysis artifacts to leadership, stakeholders and the customers

  • Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risks or realize opportunities

  • Attending internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings

  • Support formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.

  • Working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

  • Coordinate electrical system engineering content and work products.

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively to understand system level interdependencies that impact electrical requirements and design constraints.

  • Demonstrate leadership principles – Integrity, respect, organizational, communication etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of experience, or 10 years of experience with a master’s degree, or 8 years of experience with a PhD.

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Experience with formal management and/or leadership in include performance reviews

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross organizational collaboration

  • Control Account Management (CAM) experience

  • Electrical design and/or electrical integration experience

  • Knowledgeable with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent.

  • Electrical engineering experience in electrical architecture, power equipment design, interface definition (internal and/or external), cable/harness design and/or power distribution.

  • Experience utilizing Siemens Capital or equivalent.

  • - Knowledgeable with creating and executing schedule & technical recovery plans.

  • Ability to meet program technical, cost and schedule milestones.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-power and/or high-frequency systems, including power electronics.

  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or equivalent.

  • Experience utilizing Siemens Capital or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, fiber, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems.

  • Authorship and release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.

  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.

  • Experience in maintaining and reporting status of program activities

  • Electrical Professional Engineering (P.E.) license

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. 

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
