We are looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Software Configuration Analyst based out of our McClellan, CA office.

What You’ll get to Do:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Configuration Analyst to help develop, enforce, and maintain Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes on large- and small-scale programs.

Your roll will involve planning and coordinating preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

The Sr. Principal Software Configuration Analyst may also perform the following:

  • Coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery
  • Administration of the SCM tools
  • Facilitate and scribe for control board meetings, creating build and delivery documentation, and
  • process improvement activities
  • Establish and implement procedures to coordinate changes to program data and products
  • Possess understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices, and standards as required
  • Proposal support
  • Specification writing
  • Procedure documentation to include graphics
  • White papers
  • Test plans

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 9 years of related experience, Master’s with 7 years of experience; PhD with 4 years of experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
  • Experience in software configuration management or within a related area
  • Experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery
  • Experience utilizing SCM principles, concepts, industry practices, and standards is required
  • Experience with Agile methodology and working as a member of a software development team in an Agile environment
  • Experience with proposal documentation, white papers, test plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance with Special Program Access (SAP)
  • Experience with implementing SCM on a large-scale program
  • Experience with software source control and configuration management tools and environments (Atlassian, Git, Jira, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Linux and Windows)
  • Experience in configuring and administering DevOps tools, including Jenkins, Gitlab Pipelines/Runners to streamline CI/CD processes
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Bash, Python or PowerShell

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,300.00 - $219,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
