The Staff Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for analyzing product, commercial and research data to help drive strategic decision making across R&D, product, and marketing for Illumina’s software and informatics portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop business intelligence solutions (dashboards, reports, data models) using tools like Tableau and Salesforce.
- Analyze software product usage data to identify trends, user behavior, and opportunities for product improvement.
- Collaborate with product, R&D, and marketing teams to define KPIs and track performance metrics.
- Extract, clean, and validate data from various sources (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Zuora, product databases, cloud platforms).
- Take initiative to develop and implement new processes to strengthen data accuracy and enhance efficiency.
- Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders through compelling visualizations and storytelling.
- Monitor data quality and integrity, ensuring consistency across systems and reports.
- Perform other job duties as required/assigned.
Preferred Experience/Education:
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, business, or related field; or 6 years and master's degree; or 3 years and PhD.
- Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools, and data modeling.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and SaaS metrics.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business narratives.
- Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous requirements, adapt, and learn.
- Must be a self-starter, with relentless curiosity and attention to detail.

The estimated base salary range for the Staff Business Intelligence Analyst - Global Software and Informatics role based in the United States of America is: $115,800 - $173,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
