Position Details
The Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Staff Assistant II. This position will be responsible for providing assistance to the Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (OURI).
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the Director to collaborate with faculty and administrators to increase the quality and number of opportunities for undergraduate research campus wide.
2. Provide administrative support to the Director of OURI. This includes financial management, travel and expense reimbursement, assisting faculty and students with grant processes, reviewing grant proposals for compliance with internal policy, compiling and reporting information about OURI programs, and website updating. Daily responsibilities include coordinating purchases and reimbursements for faculty and students on OURI/SURF grants.
3. Manage internal grants in Workday, including monitoring budgets, paying stipends/awards for students and faculty, reconciling grants against the university ledger, and ensuring compliance with federal rules, university policy, and grant guidelines.
4. Review and coordinate student travel requests across all four colleges, OURI, Honors, and International Programs through Workday.
5. Work with the Director of OURI to plan and execute events on campus: symposia, workshops, guest speakers, grant orientation sessions, etc.
6. Update and maintain a schedule of OURI events and workshops, coordinate with other offices as necessary, and promote these events via digital and physical marketing.
7. Hire and supervise student workers who serve as OURI student Ambassadors.
8. Coordinate with Office of Sponsored Programs on grant rules and updates, as well as processing expenses and stipends.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate
$20.00 per hour

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Summer – Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required
