Arrowhead Intermediaries is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Tampa, FL!
Reporting to the Controller or Accounting Leader, the Staff Accountant will perform accounting functions for the designated Profit Centers. This individual will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks and will be an integral part of the month-end close process. The Staff Accountant will also have visibility and interactions with the Profit Center’s senior leadership team and Brown and Brown’s finance and accounting team.
How You Will Contribute:
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and related support.
Assist with month-end close and financial reporting and adhere to applicable deadlines.
Follow procedures to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with corporate guidelines.
Produce and distribute monthly reports and payments to insurance carrier partners.
Maintain and review general ledger activities and records.
Review and analyze monthly financial statements.
Banking activities within the assigned level of access including but not limited to preparation and maintenance of bank reconciliations, preparation of ACH/Wire transactions, and monitoring bank transactions.
Complete all internal control requirements and self-assessments.
Design and run both canned and ad-hoc reports as needed for various projects.
Identify, research, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Knowledge and abilities equivalent to a four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance
Proficient with MS Office Suite Products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Industry software experience a plus
Insurance background a plus
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
