The Staff Accountant will have responsibility for oversight and control of CTDI Inventories for the assigned verticals.  

Responsibilities

  • General

    • Provide oversight and support for all inventory accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
    • Identify and implement inventory accounting best practices, process improvements, and strong inventory control procedures.
    • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to maintain accurate inventory records and resolve discrepancies.
    • Conduct slow-moving and obsolete inventory reviews, provide analysis in support of management’s inventory salvage and scrapping initiatives.

    Month End

    ·       Execute month-end inventory close procedures including inventory-related journal entries and analysis.

    ·       Reconcile inventory balance sheet accounts monthly, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution.

    ·       Maintain documentation and support for all inventory-related reconciliations and adjustments.


    Inventory Transactions & Costing

    ·       Resolve inventory PO matching holds and coordinating with Inventory, Procurement & Accounts Payable as needed to clear discrepancies.

    ·       Update average inventory costs monthly and validate price variances to ensure accurate costing.

    ·       Analyze cost fluctuations and document explanations for significant changes impacting inventory valuation.

    Process Improvement & Controls

    ·       Continually evaluate existing inventory processes and internal controls, recommending improvements to maintain & enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within evolving business environment.

    ·       Support Annual Physical Inventory and Cycle Counting; documenting applicable inventory accounting activities to support inventory balances and Year End Audit.

    General Accounting Support

    ·       Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management including but not limited to:

    o   Journal entries

    o   Account reconciliations

    o   General Accounting


Required Skills

  • ·      Entry-level accounting experience (0–2 years).

    ·       Strong PC skills including database and spreadsheet proficiency.

    ·       Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

    ·       Excellent organizational and time management skills.

    ·       Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

    ·       Ability to prioritize and work independently.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ·       Public Accounting experience.

Education

  • B.S. in Accounting or an equivalent discipline required
