The Role
[solidcore] is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing HQ Accounting Team. The ideal candidate is an accounting professional with a strong foundation in GAAP, excellent attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. This individual is highly motivated, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will support core accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue reporting, and month-end close activities.
Located in Arlington, Virginia, this position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a rapidly expanding, investor-backed fitness brand.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, process, and code weekly invoices, including preparing and executing vendor payments
- Maintain strong communication and positive working relationships with [solidcore] vendors
- Support revenue reporting
- Perform AR and AP reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements as needed
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
- Respond to requests from external auditors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Possess a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Must be local to the Arlington/DMV area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multi-location retail, or membership-based business experience
- NetSuite or similar accounting ERP software experience
- CPA or CPA candidate
