Job Summary
The Staff Accountant responsible for accounting within specified vertical and The Rebates Staff Accountant will report to the Manager of Accounting and collaborate with other members of the NAPA HQ accounting team on month-end and year-end close processes. This role is a key part of the Accounting
team, providing oversight primarily related to the vendor and customer rebates, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments
Responsibilities
Participate in the month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance explanations and other financial information and supporting schedules.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Global Transportation, AP/AR, and Finance to manage and resolve rebate income and accruals inquiries effectively.
Oversee the billing process and coordinate with vendors to address rebate inquiries and payment issues promptly.
Support the management of vendor inquiries concerning billing and payment collections for rebate Income
Prepare ad-hoc reports and fulfill various special reporting requests to support business needs and decision-making processes.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support.
Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Act as the subject matter expert for assigned areas of responsibility and interact with all levels of management regarding issues related to these specific areas.

Requirements include but may not be limited to the following:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Basic knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures as relates to general ledger accounting
PeopleSoft experience preferred
Strong analytical skills
Problem solving abilities
Detail oriented
Timely completion of tasks (maintaining/meeting deadlines on a daily/monthly and ad hoc basis)
Quality of tasks (accuracy - lacking errors and providing meaningful documentation to support entries and/or position when decisions are made)
Capacity (ability to maintain / manage volume of locations – which can be impacted by the complexity of said locations/business)
