Our finance team is looking for a New York-based Staff Accountant focused on General Ledger accounting! This role plays a crucial part in our financial operations, ensuring accurate processing of accounting transactions and supporting broader GL functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic finance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
- Assist with fixed asset accounting, including tracking additions, disposals, and calculating depreciation
- Support accounts payable functions including invoice processing, vendor setup, and payment approval workflows
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end closing activities
- Maintain accurate documentation for financial transactions and support audit requirements
- Assist with data entry and maintenance in the Oracle Fusion ERP system
- Support the accounting team with various ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency
Experience and Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA is a plus
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in general accounting or GL functions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and processes
- Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation calculations is a plus
- Problem-solving mindset with ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Interest in growing within the accounting function and developing broader finance skills
The salary range for this role is $67,000 - $75,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!
