Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with payroll calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the finance team with day-to-day accounting operations.

This role follows a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work. We offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate individual needs while maintaining team collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Verify payroll data and employee benefit information for accuracy, including employee hours, deductions, and benefits and record to appropriate accounts within the General Ledger.
• Assist month end close process by reviewing accounts, performing variance analysis, preparing assigned journal entries, and preparing various analytical reports as assigned.
• Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues related to balance sheet accounts, including cash, bank accounts, and general ledger.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed.
• Review and prepare bank statement reconciliations, including ensuring reconciling items are addressed in a timely manner. Support others in reconciling and cash application in SAP ERP.
• Assist in testing of new software implementations as needed.
• Develop and maintain procedures & processes including creation of key finance Desk Procedures.
• Review and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and prepare audit workpapers.
• Work with and provide information to internal and external auditors.
• Support other areas within accounting as needed.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or currently pursing with work related experience.
• 1-2 years related accounting experience.
• SAP 4-Hanna experience is preferred.
