Job Summary:
We are currently looking to add to our team with an exciting opportunity as Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant role will be a strong supporting partner to the platform accounting team, working closely with the Senior Accountant to assist with the analysis of financial reporting, reconciliation, and accounting functions.
This role is responsible for performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis. This includes ensuring each reconciliation has supporting documentation, subledger detail agrees to corporate general ledger, significant outstanding items are appropriately documented, and substantial revenue and expense variances are researched.
The ideal candidate must be hands-on, have excellent organizational skillset and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We are a relationship-oriented business, and strong relationship and partnering skills are vital to this role. Previous work experience as an Analyst or in accounting is required, and experience in the insurance brokerage or a related industry is preferred.
Responsibilities:

Complete monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.

Research and clear variances noted during reconciliation completion process.

Complete monthly revenue reports and revenue variance analysis.

Complete monthly expense variance analysis.
-
Prepare month-end journal entries and other analysis as required.

Complete audit requests.

Complete monthly cash transfer report requests

Provide information for quarterly escheatment process and reporting
-
Complete quarterly review and research on A/R items over 180 days old.

Complete quarterly review and research on deficit producer commission payable balances.

Assist in auditing bank account activity to ensure Associates are posting everything accurately.

Assist with the monthly close of agency management systems.

Assist with onboarding Partners to Platform from prior teams.

Provide prompt, accurate, courteous, “best in class” service to partners, insurance companies, leadership team and all staff.

Assist with annual activities such as the year-end audit, budget, state apportionment, 1099 information, and unclaimed property

Assist with monthly income statement review to budget and research variances with Acrisure Partners and accounting team.

Balance Acrisure Partner intercompany accounts.

Education/Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree or the recognized equivalent in education and experience required.

Minimum (1-2) one to two years of experience in accounting, auditing and/or financial analysis required.

Insurance brokerage/related industry accounting background preferred.

Prior experience with balance sheet reconciliations required.
-
Prior experience working with both the income statement and balance sheet required.
-
Prior variance analysis experience required.
-
A working knowledge of insurance-based management systems (i.e., AMS360, Epic, Applied TAM) is highly desired.

Working knowledge of general ledger systems (Workday preferred)
