The Accountant is responsible for the company's execution of accounting following established accounting principles, accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.Your Impact:
- Support includes financial analyses, interim and final financial reports and metrics with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management.
- Provide accounting support to ensure appropriate compliance with business requirements.
- Review and support the maintenance of general ledger for accuracy. Evaluate alternative means of treating transactions. Provide cash flow analysis and financial reports. Consider need for new or changed controls.
- Enter and report commissions into insurance software and prepare resulting monthly remittances, as required. Support the preparation of tax reporting and compliance with local, state and federal government regulations. Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations. Support preparation of monthly end-closing reports. Interpret the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements.
- Prepare other financial statements as required. Recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system, transactions and procedures.
- Prepare for insurance audits, and participate when required. Work on Accounting related Projects. May lead or coordinate activity of other lower level employee work under the Accounting department Other duties, as assigned.
- Consider need for new or changed controls. Support audits, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, general ledger entries, A/P check printing and posting, trouble shooting system issues, and research and resolve payment discrepancies.
Successful Candidates will Have:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance / CPA a plus but not required.
- 1-2 years of general financial and cost experience.
- Financial software and other relevant PC Microsoft office skills required at advanced level.
- Excel Power User-Advanced Proficiency Word –Typing accuracy and speed of 50 WPM Self Starter with Problem Solving abilities Leadership Capability
