We at Angle Health are thrilled about expanding our finance and accounting team and are currently searching for a new team member. We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and want to revolutionize the health insurance industry. As a staff accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation.


The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in health insurance, excellent financial accounting and analytical skills, a bias toward action, and exceptional organizational and communication abilities. Our team moves quickly to make company-wide decisions, thus it is crucial to strike a balance between getting the details right while still moving fast. Finally, we are looking for someone eager to learn and grow with minimal supervision from senior staff.

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with monthly close processes with little supervision.
  • Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and resolve potential discrepancies.
  • Facilitate collection from overdue accounts by contacting groups via telephone or email.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team on collections of overdue accounts and general outreach to groups.
  • Assist the head of finance as needed.

What We Value

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • 1+ years of accounting experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Good problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

Bonus Points

  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA certification
  • Experience working for a startup
  • Experience with business online banking
  • Experience with Sage Intacct
  • Experience in the Insurance industry

The salary range for this job opportunity is $65,000 to $85,000 per year, which is the amount Angle Health anticipates paying for this position at the time of this job posting. The actual base salary offered may differ and will depend on various factors such as geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as internal equity.
