Relay Payments is seeking an ambitious, solution-driven Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the month-end close process, reconciliations, analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, and month-end financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and capable of working on an array of different projects.
- Gain a deep understanding of the Relay Payments platform in order to monitor and properly account for the movement of customer funds onto and through the Relay balance sheet
- Support the month-end close process by preparing schedules and reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of monthly commentary, financial dashboards, month-end variances, and other supporting analysis
- Support other departments with customer inquiries and requests
- Assist with Relay’s travel and expenses, including assisting other team members and external parties through the travel booking process
- Collaborate with different departments and vendors to streamline requests, spend, and budgeting on a monthly basis
- Prepare customer reconciliations, pricing reconciliations, and propose solutions to customer inquiries and product issues
- Coordinate and participate in other projects and perform ad-hoc duties as needed
- Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience in accounting or finance; bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance strongly recommended
- Big 4 experience a big plus, CPA preferred or in progress
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of discretion
- Thorough, accurate, and seeks to understand and solve problems through logical reasoning
- Strong organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop relationships and work closely at all levels of an organization
- Demonstrated ability to function independently, multi-task, and realign priorities as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Quickbooks Online and Looker reporting tools
- Willing to work a hybrid schedule on-site 3x/week at our ATL HQ across from The Battery
