POSTION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting Yondr’s day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role will prepare and record journal entries, review supporting transactions, and help ensure the Company's financial records are accurate, complete, and in accordance with accounting standards.

The Staff Accountant will also support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, investigate discrepancies, and partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting-related issues. This role will play an important part in maintaining strong internal controls and accurate documentation as the Company grows, and offers broad exposure across the accounting function. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to manage recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

General Accounting Support

  • Perform bank transaction matching daily

  • Review and code corporate credit card transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts, departments, and classes

  • Ensure transactions are supported by appropriate documentation, including receipts and business purpose

  • Assist with general accounting projects, account clean-up, system transitions, audit preparation, and other special projects as needed

  • Utilize AI tools to automate day to day work

General Ledger, Reconciliations & Month-End Close

  • Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with Company policies and applicable accounting standards

  • Code and post recurring and correcting entries to the appropriate general ledger accounts, departments, and classes

  • Review transactions for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate accounting treatment

  • Assist with accounting for fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and research and resolve discrepancies or outstanding items

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other designated balance sheet accounts

  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items and identify aged or unusual balances

  • Support the month-end close calendar, ensuring assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time

  • Prepare account tie-outs and supporting schedules, and maintain organized, audit-ready documentation

  • Identify and escalate unusual or complex transactions for review

Reporting, Audit & Controls

  • Prepare accounting reports, schedules, and analysis as requested

  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing accurate documentation and supporting schedules

  • Follow established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reconciliations, and controls

  • Communicate process improvement recommendations to the Finance team

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience; general ledger or public accounting experience preferred

  • Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close

  • Experience working with accounting or ERP systems

  • Ability to work independently, manage recurring deadlines, and prioritize multiple responsibilities

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes

  • Basic understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and research variances

  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills

  • Experience with accounting and ERP systems

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Finance and cross-functional teams

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working at a computer.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and by telephone.

Compensation Range: $85K - $95K
