Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records as needed.
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Prepare sales tax, payroll, and other regulatory filings as required.
- Support the accounting team with special projects and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.
