Staff Accountant - Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the data entry of accounting records for various areas of the business (AR, AP, GL, etc.). We will rely on your experience and advanced clerical skills to provide support processing transactions timely, efficiently, and accurately. Attention to details and the ability to prioritize your workload will be required. This position will report directly to the controller. Duties will vary based on need, but main duties will be assisting with cash posting and collection calls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Outbound collection calls.
• Assist with account reconciliations and month close processes.
• Create and maintain an accurate inventory list that is updated and verified through periodic cycles.
• Process AR cash receipts.
• Reconcile Bank Daily.
• Enter Inventory Requisitions.
• Enter Sales Orders.
• Prepare of sales tax reports.
• Prepare Journal Entries.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Schedules.
• Be a back-up for other accounting functions.

Qualifications:

• Sage experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience managing multiple companies; heavy consolidation experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or 5 years' experience in lieu of degree.
• Must be proficient in data entry functions.
• Must be organized, be accurate, and possess a strong attention to detail.
• Must have good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to respond and handle high volumes of email correspondence.
• Must have be proficient in Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF.
• Must be willing to work with a partially remote team.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks within specified timeframes.
• Must possess the ability to use sound judgment when making independent decisions.

Physical Demands:

• Involves sitting at a desk and/or driving for extended periods of time.
• Involves lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to hear telephone conversations and speak clearly.
