POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is primarily responsible for accurately maintaining the Bank's general ledger with the following main tasks:

  • Prepares general ledger reconciliations;
  • Local payroll tax preparation;
  • Orders office supplies for various locations;
  • Supports payroll and 401K entries and reconciliations; and,
  • Completes daily transaction reviews to confirm controls are functioning as intended.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews various documents, transactions, and worksheets relating to the accounting system and makes required entries;
  • Maintains spreadsheets and assists in compiling data for various financial reports;
  • Performs varied account maintenance such as general ledger work, cash accounts, and reconciliations with established accounting and control procedures;
  • Assists in the preparation of financial statements and reports required by the Bank, its external auditors, the Federal Reserve, or other regulatory authorities;
  • Balances and reconciles various accounts, as directed by supervisor and in accordance with established procedures;
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit or department as well as with other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information; and,
  • Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department/unit operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • A full understanding of Balance Sheets and Income Statements;
  • A working knowledge of GAAP;
  • Typically, up to three years relevant experience;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills;
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills;
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills; and
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.

Preferred:

  • A Bachelor's degree Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or equivalent;
  • Specialized bank finance education, training, and experience; and,
  • Fiserv product(s) exposure/experience.
