Staff Accountant Intern

Job Description:

• We are seeking a part-time Accounting Intern to join our accounting team at Flexential, a leading provider of data center solutions. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in data collection and analysis within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• This 10 Week program, beginning on May 27th and ending on August 6th (one week off in June) will provide exposure to the financial operations of a high-growth infrastructure company, hands-on experience with Excel and Word applications in the accounting, capitalization accounting, NetSuite accounting system, and mentorship opportunities with accounting leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the infrastructure assets inventory project:
  • Collect equipment data from different databases.
  • Analyze variances between data sources and resolve them based on the matrix.
  • Communicate with the market operations to determine the status of the assets that are listed only in one database.
  • Prepare the template and upload fixed assets data into NetSuite fixed assets database.
• Assist in reviewing repair/maintenance expense and allocating it to the specific assets:
  • Review repair/maintenance expense GL report.
  • Review vendor bills, determine the serial number of the equipment being repaired, summarize the repair scope, document in Excel spreadsheet.
  • Prepare the template and upload repair/maintenance data into NetSuite fixed assets database.

• Help with fixed assets data management:
  • Transfer assets to the correct locations and subsidiaries based on the physical location data.
  • Analyze master and parent assets and update the fixed assets database to replace master assets with parent assets when match is found.
  • Analyze main and child asset’s locations. Reconcile the variances and update the fixed assets database.

• Assist with fixed assets documentation
  • Proof-read
  • Create/update links
• Perform other duties as required and assigned        

Qualifications:

Required:

• Planning to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Solid analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Coursework related to accounting, business, corporate finance, or data analytics.
• Interest in the data center, real estate, or infrastructure industry.

Base Pay Range: Hourly salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $20.00 - $25.00. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
