About the Role:
We’re excited to welcome a part-time Contract Accountant to our growing team as we continue scaling and refining our financial processes. As a critical contributor to our financial operations, you’ll help ensure accurate records, streamlined workflows, and strategic support for our team’s ambitious goals.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Controller/Director of Finance while partnering with teams across finance, data analytics, and go-to-market operations. Your work will directly impact our ability to grow sustainably and efficiently.
This contract position is expected to require 10-15 hours per week, making it a flexible opportunity to apply your skills while balancing other commitments. We'd love this individual to be involved in:
Monthly Close Support:
- Categorizing transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Airbase
- Reconciling bank accounts to maintain accurate financial records
- Managing prepaid expenses and fixed assets entries
- Supporting accounts payable by processing vendor invoices weekly in Airbase
- Reviewing and categorizing transactions in Airbase prior to syncing with QBOEnsuring all W-9s are collected, verified, and securely saved in Airbase
Year-End Responsibilities:
- Preparing supporting schedules for annual 1099 filings in coordination with an outside accounting firm
- Assisting with tax filing requests to ensure compliance and timely submissions
Special Projects & Support:
- Collaborating with our Controller/Director of Finance on financial analysis, reporting, and other strategic initiatives
- Supporting process improvements to enhance efficiency across financial operations
What We're Looking For:
- We’re seeking a self-starter who thrives in dynamic, startup environments and is excited about making a tangible impact. Here’s what we’re hoping you bring to the table:
- 3-4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth startup or fast-paced setting
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, policies, and regulations
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Airbase (experience with both is a big plus)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor
