Job Description
F5 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Workday Integrations Engineer to join our Employee Experience (EX) team. In this role, you will be a key expert in designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable integrations for our Workday HCM system, primarily supporting People and Payroll functions. You will be responsible for leveraging the full suite of Workday integration tools, including Studio and the Workday Extend platform, to ensure seamless data flow across our enterprise landscape. This role is instrumental in enhancing our employee experience by delivering reliable, modern, and automated HRIS solutions.
Responsibilities
Workday Integration Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy complex Workday integrations using a variety of tools, including Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Connectors, Report as a Service (RaaS), and Orchestrate.
HRIS Integration Focus: Serve as the technical expert for all Workday integrations with internal systems (e.g., downstream payroll, benefits providers, identity management) and external vendors, ensuring data accuracy and security.
Workday Extend & AI: Drive the development of custom applications and intelligent solutions on the Workday Extend platform, incorporating AI/ML capabilities and intelligent agents to automate and enhance HR and Employee Experience processes.
Integration Services Excellence: Implement robust monitoring, error handling, and performance tuning for all production Workday integrations. Champion best practices for integration lifecycle management (ILM).
Technical Consultation: Collaborate closely with HR/People Technology analysts, business stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable technical integration solutions.
Documentation & Governance: Maintain detailed technical documentation for all integrations, including design specifications, testing plans, and governance controls to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
Operational Support: Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including troubleshooting production integration issues, applying Workday updates, and ensuring the stability and security of the HCM integration landscape.
Qualifications
Experience in enterprise application integration, with a minimum of 3+ years dedicated to Workday HCM Integrations.
Deep, hands-on expertise in developing and maintaining Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB (Inbound/Outbound), Core Connectors, and Report as a Service (RaaS).
Proven ability to design and optimize complex integrations involving various protocols (e.g., SFTP, Web Services, PECI).
Experience with Workday Extend and a strong understanding of how to build and deploy custom applications and leverage orchestrations within the platform.
Familiarity with incorporating AI/ML capabilities or intelligent agents within the Workday ecosystem to streamline processes.
Solid understanding of Workday functional areas, including Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and Absence Management, to effectively scope and test integrations.
Experience with other integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, Workato) is a plus, particularly for non-Workday-native integrations.
Strong understanding of security concepts related to Workday integrations (e.g., Integration System Users, Security Groups).
Excellent problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering high-quality, scalable integration solutions.
Effective communication skills and experience collaborating with technical teams, functional analysts, and business stakeholders.
