Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer.
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in computer security incident response activities for moderately complex events
- Conduct technical investigation of security related incidents and post incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies
- Provide security consulting on medium projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information, security policy, and standards
- Design, document, test, maintain, and provide issue resolution recommendations for moderately complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication and directory services, email, internet, applications, and endpoint security
- Review and correlate security logs
- Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity
- Identify security vulnerabilities and issues, perform risk assessments, and evaluate remediation alternatives
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Industry recognized certifications like Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or Certified Penetration Tester (CPT) or CISSP
- Extensive experience in penetration testing, offensive security, or red teaming
- Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, and common application security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, with the ability to analyze vulnerabilities and perform false positive validation
- Scripting experience in Python or PowerShell
- Familiarity with GitHub and modern development workflows
- Perform penetration testing and application security assessments across web, mobile, thick client, and API/web services
- Conduct automated scans using tools like HCL AppScan, Invicti, or WebInspect, including troubleshooting and tuning
- Perform manual testing using tools such as Burp Suite to identify and exploit vulnerabilities
- Validate findings, including false positive analysis from scanning tools
- Develop security test cases to identify missing or ineffective security controls
- Build tools, scripts, or exploits to support automation and testing efficiency
- Conduct cloud security assessments
- Lead or support DAST initiatives and projects, including enhancements to existing solutions
- Demonstrate advancements in Penetration testing capabilities of self and team.
- Good understanding of networking concepts like ICMP, DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP
- Knowledge and understanding of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies.
- Application security experience with banking/financial services applications.
- Ability to manage highly complex issues and negotiate solutions.
- High quality engagements delivered within expected timelines
- Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise on manual and automated testing approaches
- Perform peer reviews and ensure quality of assessment reports
- Support incident response activities for moderately complex security events
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and delivery of goals
- Communicate findings clearly through high-quality reports and presentations
- Work closely with peers, leadership, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive outcomes
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing through blogs, newsletters, or presentations
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop long-term solutions
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Continuous learning mindset with awareness of emerging threats and attack techniques
