The Impact of a Senior UX Designer at Coupa:
The Senior UX Designer will join our product team and drive the design for Coupa's Design System and emerging AI features. You'll contribute to the vision for how users interact with Coupa's full suite of solutions that transform business spend management, while collaborating across product and engineering teams. Our platform is revolutionizing how businesses make decisions, automate processes, and gain insights from their data. What You’ll Do
- Contribute to the design strategy and vision for the Design System, focusing on components and patterns that support the platform and AI product experiences.
- Help establish and evolve design principles, standards, and documentation within the Design System.
- Provide guidance and support to UX designers across the organization on effective Design System adoption and contribution.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment between Design System goals, product teams, engineering, and the AI/ML teams.
- Rapidly iterate on Design System components and documentation, working with stakeholders to align on direction, and creating working prototypes when necessary.
- Partner with researchers to execute research initiatives for Design System discovery and design validation, including AI component efficacy.
- Present Design System updates, design recommendations, and supporting research findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with component developers to ensure design feasibility, maintain quality assurance, and create alignment between design specifications and developed UI.
- Evaluate and monitor the adoption and success rate of previously deployed Design System changes, using data to inform future decisions.
What You Will Bring to Coupa
- 5+ years' overall design experience with significant experience managing or contributing to a large-scale Design System.
- Proven track record of contributing to or executing design vision and strategy for Design Systems or core platforms.
- Strong understanding of inclusive and accessible design practices, with experience implementing accessibility standards within a component library (WCAG).
- Expert-level understanding and real world application of user-centered design practices.
- Advanced experience using Figma for creating and maintaining robust component libraries and documentation.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence senior leadership on Design System value and adoption.
- Can effectively communicate Design System strategy and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels to realize the design vision.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and contributing to Design System initiatives across multiple product areas.
- Portfolio demonstrating significant contribution to building, maintaining, or scaling a Design System, ideally showing how system components are applied to solve complex problems, including AI/ML interfaces; candidates without portfolios will not be considered.
