The Role

      

We are seeking an accomplished Senior UX Content Writer to lead content creation throughout the entire user experience writing process based on company’s objectives and users’ needs. As a Senior UX Content Writer, you will drive the development of clear, concise, and compelling messaging that enhances the comprehension and overall satisfaction of our users. You will collaborate closely with Designers, Product Managers, Developers, Product Marketing, and Learning & Training specialists to shape the narrative and voice of our digital experiences, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical constraints. Designing through the lens of language, you will develop testable, strategic content that will work across a portfolio of products to minimize friction, drive consistency, and help Thrivent Advisors speak meaningfully to Thrivent prospects and clients.

         

          

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • As a founding UX Content Writer, you will create the initial on-going content patterns and establish what others will follow in the future.

  • Lead the development and implementation of clear and concise copy for digital interfaces, including websites, mobile apps, and other digital platforms.

  • Have a keen understanding of information architecture and system-level thinking, both from a design and content lens, to help define and maintain the tone, language, and on-brand messaging guidelines to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, effectively communicating content design decisions and rationale.

  • Drive alignment on how implementation teams can achieve clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, for products spanning multiple portfolios.  

  • Mentor junior UX writers and foster a culture of collaboration, and continuous learning. Lead by example, demonstrating and inspiring best practices in UX writing and design principles.  

  • Drive quality in UX writing that address complex language challenges. Find creative solutions to enhance product comprehensibility and accessibility. Collaborate closely with designers and developers to implement solutions that drive overall platform coherence.  

  • Soliciting, leveraging, and sharing design research, competitive analysis, relevant metrics/KPIs to deliver strategic, engaging, impactful communications  

  • Collaborate effectively within your immediate product team and across other teams as assigned. Lead and contribute to team meetings, design critiques, and brainstorming sessions, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.  

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX content to continuously improve content approaches.  

  • Recognize the broader business goals and technical constraints associated with each research effort. Align content choices with these objectives to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet both user needs and business objectives.

This role will interact with the following:

  • Fellow design, engineering, product, product marketing, learning & training specialist team (collaboration) 

  • Associate UX Content Writer, Product Designers, Associate Product Designers (mentorship) 

  • Product Managers, Design Managers, Engineering Managers, Product Marketing Managers, Learning & Training Managers (working sessions, presentations) 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:   

 

 Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in fields such as Communications, Design, or related field. 

  • 6+ years of proven track record of success as a UX Writer or similar role, with extensive experience leading UX writing initiatives for digital products. 

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts and drive alignment across cross-functional teams. 

  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with a passion for advocating for the needs of the user. 

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to inspire other UX writers to achieve excellence. 

  • Proficiency in integrating UX writing into standard design processes, from ideation to implementation, and driving the adoption of best practices. 

  • Proven ability to align design decisions with business goals and technical constraints, driving measurable impact on product success. 

  • Relevant agile experience. 

Preferred:   

  • Familiarity with design systems and how they are leveraged across multiple products.

  • Knowledge and experience working in diversified financial services.

  • Experience working within a digital product team construct.

  • Experience with current market-leading CMS tools

  • Experience using analytics platforms and reporting to find insights that will inform strategies

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $99,535.00 - $134,665.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
