PURPOSE OF POSITION

  • Sr. Test Engineer supervise day to day activities in Test Lab, that includes taking decisions according to priorities, find solutions to equipment issues, develop new equipment, to quote and follow the purchase orders for spare parts and other materials needed in the Lab. In addition, this role will be leading the effort to improve testing capabilities and data collection through development of new technologies, new test methods and follow maintenance activities required to have a good function of the laboratories.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Maintenance team within the test center.
  • Give support and training for Engineers and Technicians.
  • Must be flexible and adapt to changing departmental priorities.
  • Initial assignment is development of outdoor tool test fixtures & equipment.
  • Work with EHS for improvements in machinery and test equipment.
  • Highly motivated individual provides test support to the new product development & development to value projects.
  • Develop advanced electric-mechanical test fixture/equipment for various outdoor tool testing, focus on Electrical and Electronic development, HMI and PLC programming, LabVIEW programming.
  • Design the control system for robot, focus on PLC and robot interface design and programming.
  • To be responsible for trouble shooting and maintenance for test equipment.
  • Execute routine calibration for all NTC equipment/ meters, focus on electric parameters
  • Prepare and modify documents as required to support the Test Systems Group.
  • Plans, schedules and coordinates effective maintenance in test facility.
  • Writes and upgrades technical procedures maintained in the technical database at B&D intranet.
  • Windchill skills.
  • LOTO champion in labs.
  • BOM interpretation.
  • 3D/2D Drawing interpretation, design and storage.
  • Support and defines best practices for 5S implementation inside of labs.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (required).
  • Master’s degree in Mechatronic, industrial engineering, electronics or robotics (Preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, speak English (required)
  • Must have VISA.
  • Strong PC skills - MS Word/Excel/Power Point and Internet.
  • A plus if knowledge in data base development like Tulip and/or Visual studio.

General Competences:

  • Minimum of 4 years technical experience in product testing, reliability, quality or product design discipline with electro-mechanical devices & mechanical automation equipment operation or maintenance/repairing.
  • Experience leading people and/or projects effectively.
  • Experience with deployment of TPM.
  •  Must have a strong background in PLC programming, LabVIEW programming, and electrical/electronic design.
  • Working experience in electrical & mechanical automation equipment operation or maintenance/repairing.
  • Strong data acquisition and automation system development experience required
  • Ability to use standard electrical and mechanical measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of electronic sensors.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Must be a self-starter working with a minimum of supervision.
  • Good communication skills preferred
  • Ability to work with verbal directions and written procedures.
  • Good ability to handle hands-on work.
  • Computer skills with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Good work attitude & ethic, teamwork.
  • Mechanical experience and Strong skills in software for mechanical design (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).
  • Organization and time management skills required.
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of people.
