Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a Sr. Technology Engineer specializing in OpenShift Virtualization to join our innovative team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of cloud platform operations, driving architectural and design decisions, and implementing orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions. The Sr. Technology Engineer will contribute to Synechron’s strategic objectives by delivering high-quality, robust technical governance, enhancing business value for internal users and customers.
Software Requirements
- Required:
- Expertise in OpenShift Virtualization, Kubernetes, Linux, Nexus, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Knowledge of API Management Solutions like Redhat 3Scale.
- Understanding of GitOps principles and Infrastructure Automation.
- Preferred:
- Experience with DevSecOps tools such as Sonarqube, Checkmarx, Nexus IQ, and Sysdig.
- Familiarity with Public Cloud Providers – Oracle, AWS, Azure.
Overall Responsibilities
- Evaluate and implement orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions for consistent cloud computing processes.
- Participate in architectural and design decisions for the Core OpenShift Platform, Infra Automation, and API Management.
- Provide technical expertise and support during critical incidents and problem management.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and enhance documentation operations to improve quality and standards.
- Develop and support the implementation of Cloud Platform, DevOps, and Automation Roadmaps.
Technical Skills (By Category)
Cloud Technologies:
- Required: OpenShift Virtualization, Kubernetes, Linux.
- Preferred: Oracle, AWS, Azure.
Frameworks and Libraries:
- Required: Terraform, Ansible, Service Mesh.
Development Tools and Methodologies:
- Required: GitOps principles, Infrastructure Automation.
- Preferred: DevSecOps tools integration into CICD pipelines.
Security Protocols:
- Preferred: Implementation of security measures in automation processes.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in cloud technologies and infrastructure, including OpenShift Virtualization, Nexus, Terraform, Ansible, and API Management.
- Proven track record of delivering real-time projects within complex environments defined by high availability and high transaction rates.
- Experience in capacity planning, resource management, vendor management, and stakeholder management.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Explore new solutions/features and provide technical inputs during strategic planning.
- Convert functional requirements into technical specifications and implement scaling/automation scripts.
- Plan, define, and implement best practices in automation pipelines, platform lifecycle, and processes.
- Collaborate with platform owners and cross-functional teams to drive innovation and enforce common standards.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team expertise and document technical operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Cloud and infrastructure-related certifications, especially on Kubernetes/OpenShift, are desirable.
