The Senior Technical Writer for Business Intelligence will play a crucial role in developing and overseeing the communication infrastructure for the Business Intelligence (BI) department, ensuring clear and effective communication within the Business Intelligence (BI) department and across the organization. This role involves crafting comprehensive release notes, change notifications, and updates for the BI website, as well as maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and managing distribution lists. This position will collaborate closely with BI teams to understand technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly documentation. They will uphold consistent standards of clarity, accuracy, and accessibility in all communication efforts, contributing to the efficient operation of BI processes and the organization as a whole. This senior position involves independently managing projects and building comprehensive communication frameworks to support BI initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

Communication Framework Development: Develop and oversee the communication infrastructure for the BI department, ensuring effective dissemination of information through various channels.

Technical Documentation: Independently create and maintain comprehensive release notes, change notifications, and updates for the BI software and systems, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance

Website Maintenance: Update and manage content on the TEDI BI website, including announcements, alerts, user guides, and FAQs, to reflect the latest developments and enhancements.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and maintain SOPs for BI processes and workflows, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Distribution Lists Management: Oversee and maintain distribution lists, ensuring the appropriate stakeholders receive relevant communications promptly.

Advanced Collaboration: Work closely with BI teams, engineers, and other departments to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation

Quality Assurance: Conduct regular reviews and audits of documentation to maintain accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards and guidelines

Training Support: Develop training materials and user guides to support internal and client users in understanding BI tools and processes.

Miscellaneous Communication Efforts: Handle ad-hoc communication tasks as assigned, such as preparing presentations, drafting emails, or assisting with other documentation needs within the BI department.

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to technical writing and communication, suggesting improvements to existing processes and documentation standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as IT, Product Management, and Operations, to ensure alignment and consistency in communication efforts related to BI initiatives.

Employment Qualifications

5 to 7 Years

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • Proven working experience in technical writing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (all products)
  • Demonstrated skill in written communication including spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Experience writing for healthcare application is highly preferred, but not necessary
  • Ability to work and communicate with team in an online collaboration platform
  • Ability to follow style guides
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
  • This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
  • This role pays between $84,000-126,000 based on experience
