About the RoleThe Senior Technical Trainer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and delivery of innovative technical training programs that align with business needs. This role owns and maintains the technical and compliance training matrix, works closely with operations leaders, engineers, and technicians to drive manufacturing excellence through skills development, and supports auditing activities in collaboration with internal and external auditors. The ideal candidate enjoys creating order from ambiguity and can strategically adapt training solutions, collaborate with HR and business leaders, and evaluate the impact of learning initiatives on organizational performance for optimum efficiency and effectiveness. The position requires extensive experience in technical training, program management, and creating and maintaining technical training matrices.
This role requires designing, implementing, and delivering innovative learning programs that align with business objectives, critically evaluating requests, challenging assumptions when necessary, and proposing alternative solutions based on best practices. The role also entails collaborating with HR and business leaders to understand underlying challenges and recommend strategic learning and development (L&D) solutions that drive business impact.
Additional responsibilities include evaluating the impact of learning initiatives on organizational performance, conducting comprehensive needs assessments to address identified gaps, and developing and maintaining technical training materials such as manuals, eLearning modules, job aids, and instructor-led training guides. Key aspects include facilitating hands-on technical training sessions, staying current with industry trends and best practices, providing technical support during training, and managing multiple projects to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.About You

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +6 yrs experience).
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with adult learning theory, learning design methodologies, and program management.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in the independent use of one of the following: content creation tools, communication and collaboration tools, video conferencing tools, LMS system(s), assessment and evaluation tools.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and delivering learning programs that align with business needs.
  • Strongly prefer understanding/experience of VR/AR tools, adaptive learning platforms, analytics and reporting tools, project management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Own and maintain the technical and compliance training matrix, ensuring all training requirements are documented, tracked, and up-to-date.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing training documentation, records, and compliance evidence as needed.
  • Develop and execute the manufacturing training strategy to ensure operational readiness, quality compliance, productivity, and accelerated proficiency for new hires and role changes.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Leadership (Production, Engineering, Quality, and site leaders) to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, completed on time, and aligned with business need
  • Certifications specific to technical training focus area, such as IPC J-STD, IPC 620, NASA 8739.1 or A&P or similar.
  • Familiarity with VR/AR tools and adaptive learning platforms for technical training.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess technical training effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools to measure technical training outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and engaging technical training materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing leadership and guidance to junior team members.
  • Experience leading classroom-based and virtual training sessions, ensuring high levels of engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Experience in creating and delivering hands-on labs and practical exercises to reinforce learning.
  • Ability to adapt training delivery methods to suit different learning styles and technical proficiency levels.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale training programs.


Compensation:

Pay Range:

$112,243.00 - $154,354.75

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
