Role Overview
As a Functional Analyst, multifaceted professionals will build and deploy Risk Applications on a fast-paced, development-focused team. You will elicit and understand business requirements and work with the business product owners and the application development teams to capture the right solution. The Functional Technical Analyst specializing in data and automation will partner with and build relationships with cross-functional teams that support various Risk business areas. This key position combines the analytical capacity of a functional analyst with the technical vision of a data specialist with solid communication and problem-solving skills. This role will create solutions to meet our business goals with the innovative spirit of an automation expert and the meticulous approach of a quality assurance professional - working in an agile delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management: Utilize SQL, Power BI, and other internal platforms for complex data querying, manipulation, and analysis across multiple databases. Ensure data integrity and accuracy and perform corrections in all reports and analyses.
- Insight Generation: Use Power BI and other internal platforms to create compelling visualizations and dashboards that communicate trends, patterns, and insights to non-technical stakeholders to drive commercial impact.
- Driving Data-Centric Decision Making: Leverage their deep understanding of data structures, relationships, and quality to ensure that all automated processes and applications are built on reliable, actionable data. Their expertise will be vital in transforming raw data into valuable business insights.
- Optimizing Data Flows and Integration: Design and implement efficient data pipelines and integrations between various systems using Power Apps and other technologies. Their efforts will break down data silos, improve information flow, and ensure data consistency across the organization.
- Lead Process Automation: Leverage expertise in Power Apps to transform manual, time-consuming processes into efficient, automated workflows, significantly boosting productivity across the organization.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Constantly analyse existing processes and systems to identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
- Conduct Thorough User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Lead UAT sessions to ensure that automated solutions meet user requirements and expectations, gathering and implementing user feedback to deliver high-value solutions.
- Stay Ahead of Technology Trends: Continuously explore new features in Power Apps and emerging trends in automation and testing, ensuring the organization remains adaptable and competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
- Collaborate on Cross-Functional Projects: Work closely with various departments to identify automation opportunities and implement cross-functional solutions, driving organization-wide efficiency improvements.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements. Participate in discovery sessions to observe, document, and validate business processes and capture key insights. Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
- Agile Delivery: Create user stories and wireframes to conceptualize future states for user experience, new or enhanced services, and business cases. Defining acceptance criteria. Manage the product backlog and prioritize the features/ stories based on business priorities.
Required
- 5+ years as a Business Systems/Functional Analyst or a Consultant creating technology solutions.
- 3-5 years of proficiency with SQL language (ability to write queries).
- BA/BS in Comp Science/IS (or equivalent).
- Experience with cloud platform systems and DevOps.
- Ability to document use cases and create mocks/prototypes for a team to consume.
- Data analysis experience using Excel.
- Experience in agile methodologies.
Preferred:
- Experience with SAFe® Agile.
- Knowledge of implementing AI technologies such as machine learning, NLP, generative AI, and Conversational AI.
- Exposure to modern AI concepts such as generative AI, various models of machine learning, and large language models, as well as involvement in older concepts like automation and robotics.
- Knowledge of auditing processes, technology, and communication strategies.
