We are seeking a Senior Tableau Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of BI dashboards and analytics solutions. This role will be responsible for end-to-end Tableau implementation—from data sourcing and modeling to dashboard design and performance tuning. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server (on-prem), SQL Server data warehouses, and be able to collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain interactive and insightful dashboards using Tableau Desktop.
- Administer, monitor, and upgrade the Tableau Server environment (on-prem).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and data marts in SQL Server to support Tableau dashboards.
- Troubleshoot and enhance dashboard performance at both the Tableau and data source levels.
- Maintain existing Tableau solutions and implement version upgrades and server patches as required.
- Conduct data validation, profiling, and transformation to ensure accuracy and consistency in reports.
- Prioritize BI requests and enhancement initiatives based on evolving business needs.
- Participate in system improvement initiatives and integration of new technologies into the BI ecosystem.
- Conduct unit testing and support issue resolution related to dashboards and data pipelines.
- Experience with other BI tools and data visualization technologies.
- Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for Tableau automation.
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD practices in BI projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with Tableau (Desktop and Server).
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with SQL Server data warehouses.
- Solid experience in building data models, stored procedures, and ETL processes.
- Experience managing and tuning on-prem Tableau Server environments.
- Proven ability to analyze data, build reports, and present findings to stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Comfortable interacting with cross-functional teams including Business, Data Engineering, and Infrastructure.
- Proactive and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
