OVERVIEW

Our team is developing the next generation of security screening solutions for airports worldwide while maintaining a large, deployed fleet. Analogic is looking for a highly motivated Principal Systems Engineer to bepart of a team producing industry leading technology for Airport Security.

SUMMARY

Candidate will design, analyze, and document complex mechanical and electrical products with a focus on optical and pneumatic systems as part of a multidisciplinary team, in both an individual contributor and leadership capacity. Candidate will conduct testing and evaluation of new, modified, or existing designs to drive continuous improvements to products and processes to meet the requirements of both internal and external stakeholders.

DUTIES

• Conceptualize, design, assemble, document, and evaluate complex mechanical, electrical, optical, and pneumatic systems.

• Provide sustaining engineering to various product lifecycles including resolution of End of Life and Obsolescence in production.

• Provide direction and assistance to supporting teams in Manufacturing and Quality Engineering.

• Coordinate, perform, and report on regulatory/compliance testing.

• Scope projects and programs to provide effort, cost, and schedule estimates.

• Coordinate and supervise engineering personnel and technicians assigned to projects.

• Prepare and conduct formal design reviews with internal and external customers.

• 5% domestic/international travel required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of related experience

• Recognized as technical expert with both broad and deep range of technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, with a specialty in optical systems.

• Experience with design, assembly, calibration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of high accuracy laser/optical systems.

• Experience with fabrication methods including machined molded, casted, and sheet metal components.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective communication with all levels of management, internal and external customers, suppliers, and outside agencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in relevant field

• Experience with pneumatic systems and solenoid valves & regulators

• Experience with thermal systems and thermal analysis

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Individuals may be required to sit/stand in one place for long periods of time. They might be required to lift and move related equipment up to 50 pounds from time to time. This may include bending or kneeling briefly. Required to use PC/laptop/mouse for significant time every day. Works in an office, lab, and manufacturing environment. Work in labs and manufacturing requires appropriate safety and ESD protections. Work in an x-ray environment requires x-ray safety training as well as a dosimeter badge
