As a member within the Power Engineering IT organization, you will shape the future of the Engineering software portfolio by defining and executing our product strategy. As a close partner to the Engineering business, you will deliver innovation and simplification of critical business applications across a global stakeholder community to allow the transition to one common global
engineering process.
This is a high-impact opportunity to influence the future of Engineering work across the Power Segment within GE Vernova, and work at the intersection of technology, business, and leadership.

Job Description

What you’ll do  

 

  • Own the Core Engineering IT application portfolio, including critical pillar PLM platform.
     

  • Partner with Engineering business to execute the Core Engineering application portfolio strategy, aligning with business goals and customer needs. 

  • Simplify the overall application portfolio to streamline processes as well as optimize IT cost. 

  • Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities in software, systems, and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices 

  • Lead projects within our Engineering IT domain ensuring alignment with technology and business priorities, through ownership of product backlog & delivery 

  • Collaborate with the business to capture business requirements and develop user stories 

  • Establish governance structure that identifies key performance indicators, sets milestones, and establishes a reporting cadence
     

  • Track and monitor status, metrics, and milestones; ensure delivery commitments from internal and external partners are met. 

  • Present regular leadership updates to GEV executive sponsors, leadership and customers.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define future technology platforms, identify opportunities to leverage AI for products and services. 

  • Proactively communicate requirements, timelines, and stakeholder needs to resolve conflicting priorities and drive consensus. 

  • Own Application Governance and closely collaborate with external partners to ensure SLAs are met. 

 

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications) 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), with significant years of IT professional experience, along with established leadership credentials across product lines, or equivalent experience/knowledge.

  • Proven experience in delivering large, business transformation programs
     

  • Proven experience in delivering applications based on latest Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software solutions.

  • Proven experience in Agile software delivery using SAFe methodologies.

  • Understanding of the engineering business domain & processes.
     

  • Understanding of latest Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software solutions.

  • Experience in successful delivery of IT projects using Agile/SAFe software methodologies. 

  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management inclusive of varied and complex stakeholder needs, collaborative and innovative vendor partner relationships, and influencing change across matrixed organizations.
     

  • Leading requirement-gathering workshops to map as-is processes and identify gaps. Translated these into detailed IT requirements and user stories, validated through iterative reviews with development and QA teams. 

  • Proven track record in managing vulnerability remediation in enterprise environments. 

  • Experience working with external software delivery partners. 

  • Effective communicator with experience in presenting and interacting with senior stakeholders. 

  • Ability to deconstruct problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are ambiguous. 

  • Uses critical thinking skills and organizational skills to help teams resolve issues and define solutions.
     

  • Self-Driven, autonomous, and can proactively identify and remove obstacles for the organization.
