Job Description

Your Career

We seek a Sr Staff Software Engineer to join the Cortex DevOps group, based at our India Development Center (IDC), who is, first and foremost, a software craftsman with a passion for building innovative tools and platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a deep-rooted background in software engineering and a strong understanding of the needs and challenges of R&D and DevOps teams. This role is for a true developer at heart, someone who excels at building high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software. If you have a passion for creating tools that enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support the operational needs of a growing infrastructure, you're the candidate we're looking for.

Your Impact

  • You will write high-quality product and system development code that contributes to the core functionality of our tools and applications
  • You will participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders, driving alignment around best design practices
  • You will review code developed by your peers to ensure adherence to best practices in style, efficiency, testability, and reliability
  • You will contribute to technical documentation to support the development and maintenance of internal systems
  • You will provide operational support for tools and applications maintained by the Cortex DevOps Tooling team
  • You will maintain and build resilient infrastructure with a strong focus on performance, security, and sound system design principles.

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, demonstrating deep technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a strong commitment to building highly reliable, scalable systems that meet strict service level objectives.
  • Graduate degree in the field of Computer Science.
  • Proficiency with software development in one or more programming languages (Python preferred)
  • Proficiency in developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with Compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • Proficiency with any major Cloud Provider(s) like GCP, AWS, Azure.
  • Experience with developing, deploying, and/or maintaining micro-services architecture with Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.
  • Ability to grasp new technologies quickly and prioritize and multitask on multiple responsibilities.
