Essential Job Functions

The Business Development Engineer’s role is to identify and evaluate strategic acquisition targets.  To do this, engineers must develop a P50 view of inventory, type curves, PDP forecasts, LOE, D&C, and commercial assumptions.  Reservoir characterization is foundational to this role as appropriate modelling requires combining geologic, engineering, and production data.  Engineers must be able to handle large amounts of data, run statistical analyses, and apply machine learning principles.  Adaptive problem solving is crucial as all acquisition workflows have their own unique challenges.  Business development is a dynamic role with engineers asked to quickly pick up or pivot on certain projects.  All these skills and workflows must be combined into an acquisition recommendation and then effectively presented to the executive team for a final decision.
