Summary of Role:
The General Legal team at GF is looking for a Senior Legal Specialist in Bangalore who will play a pivotal role in reviewing and negotiating various contracts and NDAs with suppliers and customers including contract life cycle management process and advisory support. This position includes significant exposure to global contracting, especially US contracts, and requires strong negotiation capabilities. The role will also be expected to provide support to the broader legal team on other projects as the need may arise.
Essential Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
- Lead drafting, reviewing, redlining and negotiating of various contracts including Master/General Service Agreement, Supply Agreements, Consultancy, SAAS, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Amendments etc., with suppliers and customers
- End to end contract life cycle management. Develop process and framework to manage consistent best-in-class contract terms
- Provide advice and counsel to various functional areas of the business, including identifying and mitigating risks, and the impact and application of contract terms
- Should have good knowledge of CLM tools (preferably iCertis) and other tools such as SAP Ariba, Docusign, Service Now, etc.
- Identify legal, operational, financial, and compliance risks in contracts and advise mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with corporate policies
- Facilitate contract audits and internal reviews.
- Support negotiations and discussions with external vendors, clients, partners, consultants, and service providers.
- Provide contract training and guidance to internal teams.
Required Qualification:
- Law degree from a reputed law school with atleast 5 years of experience in contract management.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting and analytical skills across diverse contract types.
- Exposure to collaborating with cross-functional teams such as procurement, audit, finance, operations and insurance.
- Ability to manage complex, high-value contracts with global stakeholders. Prior experience of supporting the global legal teams is necessary.
