Your Role

 

As a Lead Developer, your role is to act as an internal expert and leader in the EAI space. You will be providing innovative, scalable, and high-quality solutions to meet business needs from inception through design, implementation, and enhancement, across the EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) space. You will proactively and holistically lead and support both business led and internal initiatives that guide the development and management of a portfolio of solutions in the EAI domain. You will also provide technical guidance to team members, both internal and external, through the life cycle of these solutions. The Lead Developer will contribute to delivery of API driven solutions in the EAI space, as well as participate in leading through major transformation activities.

 

 

The EAI team is responsible for the application integrations that span across many core business functions, with a substantial amount of the domain being within commercial (ex. sales, technical services, etc.) but also extending into other functions such as manufacturing, services, business intelligence and analytics, etc.  You will have a deep understanding of business goals, objective and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes. The Lead Developer provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks supporting the development of technology solutions to ensure delivery of high quality, high impact capabilities to meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. You will create deliverables for managing the organization's portfolio of "to be" and "as is" solutions to enable and drive targeted business outcomes in the assigned domain.

  

What you will be doing

 

Lead Solutions Design and Analysis  

  • Leads evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of key integration solutions across a group of specific business applications or technologies across multiple functional domains.  
  • Creates and delivers comprehensive integration solutions focused on detailed design principles, decision points and dependencies between business and IT. 
  • Manages and develops the integration patterns for a broader scope of projects or products, working closely with the business, cross-functional IT teams, and external partners for each project, product, or initiative.  
  • Analyzes the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation, and innovation).  

 

Facilitates and Collaborates to Deliver Business Outcomes  

  • Works closely with the project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised throughout the project or product lifecycle.  
  • Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.  
  • Partner with application architects within agile teams to ensure the project or product is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.   
  • Consults with application and infrastructure development projects and products to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.  

Responsibilities 

  • Partner with developers, architects, designers, hardware engineers, project managers, and management teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to ensure successful delivery of end-to-end integration solutions.
  • Root cause partner issues and provides resolution to unblock development or improve experience.  
  • Design and document key integration solutions and where needed prepare high quality presentations to key decision makers.
  • Ensure overall delivery of integration solutions within your domain, providing guidance and oversight to junior and senior developers.
  • Create actionable steps to achieve key roadmap deliverables.
  • Design re-usable and scalable integration solutions to support key capabilities and portfolios.
     

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, MIS, engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience 
  • 7+ years of overall professional IT experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in the design, coding and implementation of application integration solutions; specific experience with in MuleSoft CloudHub 2.0, API-led connectivity, DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, AWS services, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a senior developer, engineer, or lead in the EAI space.
  • Strong experience with holistic designs incorporating both cloud-based technologies and applications with a wide variety of application platforms, protocols, and services/interfaces.
  • Experience with ERP integrations a plus.
  • Strong understanding of relevant security and networking protocols.
  • Demonstrated capability to quickly adapt to and leverage new technologies, platforms, and methodologies.
  • Proven experience with the migration of application integrations and cross-domain integration projects.
  • Foundational understanding of the key principles of architecture designs.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as technical support, consulting, or solutions architecture.
  • Familiarity with information models and industry data standards such as automation and agile architecture.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills, long term, and strategic thinking without losing the actual needs, teamwork, and fast integration into bigger teams. 
  • Understanding of regulated Healthcare industry, FDA design controls requirements is an advantage.
