SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER
As a Special Accounts Manager for Carpenter Technology, this person will be responsible for managing Carpenter’s current customer base in addition to increasing our share position with existing & new customers in the greater Ontario & Quebec regions. This includes responsibility to promote Carpenter’s complete product portfolio including wrought specialty alloy steel in bar, wire, strip and forged bar forms and wrought titanium products. The candidate should be located in the Greater Ontario Canada region.
THE SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER WILL . . .
- Maintain and grow established sales territory in Central & Eastern Canada.
- Sales focus is heavy in the aerospace structural sector but will serve customers in other markets such as space, defense, aerospace structural, aerospace distribution, medical, energy and industrial
- Manages an existing customer base with a minimum sustained territory size of $10 to $15 million.
- Territory includes many key accounts as well as some transactional and strategic accounts.
- Spends up to 25% of time focusing on growth through new & existing customers via new and existing products.
- Work closely with regional director, application engineers and regional metallurgists - meeting customer needs through innovation and service
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SPECIAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER
High school diploma required. Four-year college degree in marketing, business or related discipline is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Travel required: 75%, local and overnight travel
5+ years of sales/relationship management experience – preferable in the metals industry or industrial sales in the field of manufacturing
Proficient knowledge of markets and pricing practices/policies
Ability to be flexible and organized when faced with frequently changing priorities
Entrepreneurial. Strong goal and results orientation; high energy, high impact!
Strong quantitative and data-driven decision-making skills
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skills
Proven ability to resolve conflicts and arrive at good business decisions
Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Ability to identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems.
Ability to lead, effectively coach and manage, and provide performance feedback and development opportunities in a positive manner. R
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
