Senior Specialist – Private Cloud Engineer

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Private Cloud Engineer to join our Novartis Core Infrastructure Services (CIS) / Engineering team. This role involves supporting continuous improvement in service delivery and operations or developing and maintaining a technology roadmap aligned with the Service Strategy for specific platforms. The successful candidate will perform the deployment, operational health, and lifecycle management of technology solutions, work on designing and deploying technology solutions, and provide L4 support during critical incidents. Additionally, they will automate service deployments and management to foster modern delivery flows such as DevOps and SRE, aiming to deliver efficiency, flexibility, and speed at the lowest aggregate cost.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design and operations of Private Cloud and Infrastructure Service within Private Cloud Engineering team.

• Provides expert infrastructure support for the team-oriented Converged and Hyperconverged environment.

• Serve as a virtualization technical expert for project teams while providing consultation to help ensure new and existing solutions are developed.

• Ownership for individual projects to advance the IT infrastructure.

• Providing support and mentoring for colleagues.

• Continuous improvement of processes, proposals for automations and cloud integration.

• Contributes to best practices to improve overall performance.

• Negotiates the technical infrastructure solutions with providers

Requirements:

Must have:

• Experience in Architecture, Design and Deployment of Cisco UCS family.

• Deep knowledge of VMware, VSAN, Cisco LAN.

• Proficiency in IT infrastructure scripting monitoring and operations tools.

• Great overview of hypervisor alternatives and hands-on experience.

• Knowledge of GxP, ability to create the corporation documentation (Architecture Handbook, Functional Specification, Design Specification, Installation Qualification, Operation Qualification).

• Proven experience in IT Infrastructure, Service Management, Technology.

• Logical reasoning and analytical thinking.

• Fluent English .

Nice to have:

• Good knowledge of VCF, Nutanix, OpenShift, SAN Storage (Hitachi, Brocade).

• Development/deployment, Project/Vendor/Risk Management.

• Strong AWS/Azure integration knowledge and hands-on experience.

• Experience to work with SAN/LAN network.

• Containers hands-on experience and integration with virtualization products.
