The Senior Sourcing Manager is a key role to support and enable Global and Regional Category leaders and their strategies. As a Sourcing Lead, you are accountable for developing Sourcing and negotiation strategies to deliver sustainable results across certain Product and Corporate Professional Services Categories by identifying new opportunities for value and process improvement. You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to succinctly frame issues and alternatives to drive decisions forward. This role will report to the site Director while also receiving strategic category guidance from the global team. This role will also lead a local team of dedicated category Managers, Sr. Analysts and Analysts and requires significant managerial experience.

•                In Professional Services, this role will lead consulting services engagements, Regional cross-over projects and multiple cross- functional business partners to include Corporate Finance, Risk, and Legal.

•                For People or HR Services, this role will support engagements, suppliers and stakeholders in support of the sub-categories of Benefits, Talent, Recruitment, Learning or Relocation.

•                For Corporate Services, this role will lead initiatives supporting the function responsible for Facilities, Security, Real Estate to include construction to enable supply market solutions for various business needs.

•                For Product, Client and Travel, this role will manage engagements that could include event logistics, call centers, concierge or insurance services.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes strategic sourcing process in all sourcing initiatives.
  • Support the global category team with the development of requirements, include a formal evaluation process to prioritize quality, cost, service, technology, and environmental requirements; future technology roadmaps, breakthrough goals; Strategy includes benchmarking (to determine world-class levels) and internal & external gap analysis
  • Manage complex, cross-functional teams in sourcing initiatives, understands and applies milestone checks and steering team concepts Strives to create additional value to exceed customer expectations, provides attention to detail. Ensures agreed deliverables are met, dealing openly with constraints and issues.
  • Translates business goals and proposals into sourcing policies, plans and supplier relationships.  Brings business and sourcing perspectives together, helping the business to see the potential and impact of sourcing recommendations.
  • Drives cross-functional negotiation teams, influences stakeholders in the decision-making process, implements world-class negotiation techniques and contractual clauses. Educates business & suppliers on TCO concepts and deliverables
  • Works with legal counsel and other stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions of the contracts
  • Participates and may lead in supplier selection and moderately complex contract negotiations, involving Legal and other departments as necessary, to achieve favorable terms on quality, delivery, and price, and ensure end-user needs are met and deliver cost savings
  • Maintain external focus by leveraging industry peers, organizations, associations and by continuing to build strong relationships outside of Visa
  • Communicates effectively and frequently, listens carefully, and actively seeks and values the perspectives of others
  • Drives completion of simultaneous projects by proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize results
  • Shows an understanding of suppliers’ business models, key drivers, measures and priorities.  Pro-actively explores developments in global supplier markets and supply technologies, identifying possible break-through Sourcing solutions for the business. Able to facilitate and lead cross-functional supplier business reviews at Strategic & Operational level
  • Contributes significantly to the achievement of defined category performance targets and assists in driving the performance of associated suppliers, measure supplier’s performance to ensure performance meets expectations

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Procurement with a bachelor’s degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA,)
  • 3+ years experience leading and managing teams.
  • Deep understanding of cost models and performance metrics
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills using tools such a Microsoft Excel
  • Past experiences in helping develop business cases for change through leveraging business acumen, market intelligence, and insights to drive a broad strategic impact across an organization
  • Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies
  • Strong stakeholder relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with, senior-to-exec management
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on course of action. You need to be able to tell compelling stories through insights and data
  • Proficiency in English: The candidate must have excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. This includes the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and write reports and business correspondence in English
  • Proficiency in purchasing systems and organizational interfaces (including, Ariba, Coupa, DocuSign, and Oracle)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Experience in strategic sourcing using a formal 7 step sourcing process.
  • 2+ years supporting the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies specific to indirect categories
  • Experience working in a global and matrix organization
