Sr Software Engineer

What's the role?As a Sr Software Engineer, you will be designing & writing software to enrich and clean records representing the hundreds of millions of places/points of interest on our world leading global maps. Some of the daily fun will include the following:• Strong coding skills in Java and willingness to learn and use new languages - Scala.• Participate in the development of new features, functions, and customizations.• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS) Who are you?4+ years of software design & development experience. Good to have experience in working on distributed scalable systemExcellent skills in Java and/or Scala programming. Good to have experience in Sprint boot, messaging technologies and related frameworksCloud Experience. Good to have hands-on in one of them, preferrably AWSStrong and applied experience in REST based web service technologies, JSON and XML, SOA and micro services architecturesStrong experience CI/CD tools, kubernetes, Kafka, with a preference on Gitlab/Jenkins pipelineStrong and applied DBMS & SQL skillsGood knowledge of Linux/Unix – familiar with shell scriptingSolid knowledge of programming practices, strive to write great code that is reusable, flexible, and reliable.
